Korea’s optical shops are reapidly be becomeing a must-visit attraction for international tourists. Thanks to fast production, affordable prices, and stylish designs, the so-called “K-Glasses Tour” is emerging as the next big trend following K-beauty and K-pop idol tourism.
A Rising Trend : Beyond Beauty and Idols — Now K-Glassed
According to Korea’s leading inbound tourism platform Creatrip, transactions related to optical shop service increased by an impressive 1,608% from June to October this compared to the same period last year. This remakable growth comes less than one year after the platform first introduced optical-shop products.
Tourists booking these services come from a wide range of regions including Asia, America , and Europe.
- USA : 49% (Rank #1)
- Taiwan : 26%
- Germany : 9%
Optical shops located near major tourist attractions are also seeing cross-booking rates. For example, an optical shop in Myeongdong reported that 44% of its foreign customers booked the service together with other travel experiences. This shows that optical shops are no longer just shopping sports – they’ve become tourist destinations in themselves.

Why Are K-Glasses So Popular ?
1. Same – Day Service
In many countries, glasses can take several days to produce.
In Korea, the entire process — vision test, frame selection, and lens fitting — can be done in 30 minutes to 1 hour.
2. Affordable but High Quality
Korean optical shops offer high-quality lenses and frames at prices that are often significantly cheaper than those in many tourists’ home countries.
3. Trend-Driven Design
Korean eyewear is known for clean, modern, and fashion-forward designs.
For many travelers, glassed are more than a vision aid — they’re a fashion accessory.
Korea offers a diversity of styles that are difficult to find elsewhere.
Together, these stremgths creats the perfect trion : Speed, Price, and Design.
