The global K-wave is heading back to the United States in a massive way. The “2026 K-EXPO USA: All about K-style” festival will officially open in Los Angeles on May 23, showcasing the very best of Korean food, beauty, entertainment, and lifestyle culture.

Hosted and organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency, the event is considered one of the largest Korean cultural business expos in North America. Organizers expect around 40,000 visitors during the five-day celebration running through May 27.

K-Food Experience Zones Bring Korea to LA

One of the biggest highlights this year is the large-scale K-food experience area designed to immerse visitors in authentic Korean dining culture.

The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation will recreate a fully themed Korean convenience store experience, allowing guests to explore popular snacks, instant meals, and Korean food trends firsthand.

Meanwhile, Nongshim plans to operate a “Han River Ramyun Tasting Zone” centered around its globally famous Shin Ramyun. Visitors can also participate in interactive games and themed activities inspired by Korean convenience-store culture.

BBQ Chicken will introduce American audiences to the growing popularity of K-chicken, one of Korea’s strongest global food trends.

Celebrity chef events are also expected to draw huge crowds. Actor and chef Ryu Soo-young will join chef Song Hoon for a live Korean cooking show, while LA-based Korean restaurant owner chef Kim Ji-hee will host a special one-day cooking class.

K-Beauty Brands Expand Global Influence

K-beauty fans will also find a wide variety of interactive programs throughout the expo.

Visitors can enjoy personal color analysis sessions, idol-inspired makeup experiences, and professional point makeup demonstrations. Beauty artist Jung Saem-mool’s beauty brand JSM will run a customized cushion foundation color-matching program.

Major Korean skincare and cosmetic brands including Banobagi, Dermafirm, and Dr.Jcos are also set to participate, highlighting the continued global demand for Korean skincare innovation.

Webtoons, Netflix, and K-Pop Performances Complete the Festival

The event will also feature a major K-content exhibition area.

Popular Naver Webtoon titles including The Remarried Empress, Mask Girl, and The Legendary Soldier Becomes a Cook will be introduced to global audiences.

Netflix will showcase behind-the-scenes exhibitions and interactive experiences focused on creators who debuted through the platform.

K-pop fans can also look forward to a live concert on May 24 featuring Jay Park, P1Harmony, and LNGSHOT.

As K-culture continues to evolve beyond music and drama, events like K-EXPO USA demonstrate how Korean food, beauty, fashion, and entertainment are becoming part of everyday global lifestyle trends.

KOREA FBI Editor’s Comment

K-EXPO USA reflects how Korean culture is no longer limited to entertainment alone. From ramyun and fried chicken to skincare and webtoons, K-style has become a complete lifestyle experience for global consumers. With Los Angeles serving as a gateway to the North American market, this expo may become one of the most important global platforms for the future expansion of K-culture.
