K-pop girl group ITZY has officially been selected as a headliner for Morocco’s world-famous Mawazine Festival, further proving the growing global influence of K-pop.

According to JYP Entertainment on May 22, ITZY will perform on the festival’s main stage in Rabat, Morocco, on June 23 (local time). The appearance places the group alongside internationally recognized artists from around the world.

First launched in 2001, Mawazine is considered one of the largest music festivals in the world, attracting more than 2.5 million attendees annually. Global stars including Will Smith, 50 Cent, Becky G, and Lil Baby have previously appeared at the event.

This year’s lineup also features internationally popular artists such as Tiësto, Nicky Jam, and Rema.

The announcement comes shortly after ITZY’s latest comeback with their new mini album Motto and title track of the same name, released on May 18. Fans worldwide are closely watching the group’s expanding global festival presence following the new release.

As K-pop continues to dominate international stages, ITZY’s headliner status at Mawazine marks another milestone for Korean artists breaking into major global music festivals outside Asia and North America.
