The 20th anniversary of Food Week Korea 2025, themed “FOOD RE:DEFINED” arrived at the most perfect moment or as the Korean idiom says “時機絶妙 (Sigijeolmyeo)”, meaning timing was exquisite.

From October 29 to November 1, COEX Seoul hosted over 950 companies from 42 countried across 1,532 booths attracting more than 55,000 visitors in just four days- a record breaking success that proves K-FOOD is now a global sensation.

$110 Million in Trade Consultation – A Global Business Platform for K-Food

The highlight of this year’s exhibition was the 2025 K-Food Buyer Invitation Export Consultation where 1,649 business meeting took place between Korean food companies and overseas buyers.

The results speak volumes :

  • Total consultation volume : USD 110 million
  • MOU contracts signed on-site : USD 12 million
  • Global Big Buyer Matchings : 251 cases
  • US actual export contracts signed with U.S food distributors

Even domestic retail consultations reached ₩ 46.8 billion, broadening opportunities for Korean food brands to expand both at home and abroad.

“House of Sauce” – The center of the K-Sauce Craze

one of the most visited zones was the “House of Sauce” special exhibition featuring leading Korean food giants like Nongshim, Samyang Foods and Paldo.

Visitors were captivated by creative products using traditional ingredients such as gochujang(Korean chili paste), ssamjang and soy-based sauced all redesigned with modern packaging and global appeal.

This surge of interest proves that K-Sauces are becoming the next wave in global culinary culture following the footsteps of K-Pop and K-Beauty.

K-FOOD Tech Hall – Shaping the Future of Food Innovatin

The exhibition was divided into three specialized halls :

  • Hall A : Global & Healthy Pleasure Foods
  • Hall B : Gourmet & Specialty Foods, The Lounge
  • Hall C : HORECA & K-Food Tech

At the K-Food Tech Hall, smart kitchen innovations such as automated pre-wash dishwashers and advanced induction systems were introduced showcasing how Korea’s food industry is evolving toward sustainabilith and efficiency.

These technologied highlight the synergy between K-Food creativity and K-Tech innovation – a key reason global buyers are paying close attention to Korea’s food ecosystem.
