K-pop sensation Stray Kids have made history in Japan, becoming the first overseas male artist ever to headline a solo concert at Tokyo’s National Stadium. The group attracted an incredible 140,000 fans over two sold-out nights, cementing their status as one of the biggest names in global K-pop.
The group performed on October 29 and 30 as part of their new world tour, ‘RUN IT.’ The two-night concert marked the beginning of the overseas leg of the tour and delivered a historic milestone at one of Japan’s most iconic venues.
Stray Kids’ ticket power was also on full display across Japan. All seven previously announced shows across four major cities sold out completely. These included Tokyo National Stadium, Vantelin Dome Nagoya, Kyocera Dome Osaka, and Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka.
The group opened the show with ‘GIANT,’ followed by fan favorites such as ‘Hellevator,’ ‘Side Effects,’ and ‘Double Knot.’ They kept the energy high with major hits including ‘MANIAC,’ ‘God’s Menu,’ ‘Thunderous,’ ‘S-Class,’ and ‘THIS & THAT.’
Fans also got a special treat with the first-ever performances of ‘just a little’ and ‘宿命 (Shukumei),’ tracks from the group’s third Japanese mini album. Japanese-language songs and performances sparked massive sing-alongs, turning the stadium into a sea of enthusiastic fans.
Stray Kids are also continuing their remarkable success on the global music charts. Their latest mini album, ‘THIS & THAT,’ recently secured the group’s ninth consecutive No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the U.S. magazine’s main albums chart.
Beyond their performance achievements, members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han have also earned recognition for their songwriting and production contributions, highlighting Stray Kids’ identity as a self-producing K-pop group.
KOREA FBI Editor’s Comment
Selling out two nights at Tokyo National Stadium and bringing in 140,000 fans is no small achievement. What makes Stray Kids even more impressive is that they are not just performers but also actively involved in creating their own music.
K-pop is no longer simply about popularity in Korea or Asia. Stray Kids are showing how far a self-producing K-pop group can go on the global stage. And honestly, this is another reason why STAYs have so much to be proud of!
