IVE member Jang Wonyoung is once again proving her artistic depth—this time as a lyricist—ahead of the group’s highly anticipated February comeback.
According to industry sources on January 21, IVE (An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo) will release a pre-release single titled “BANG BANG” before dropping their new album later this February.
The group is currently aiming for a late-February comeback, with “BANG BANG” scheduled to be unveiled earlier in the month as a taste of what’s to come.
What’s drawing particular attention is the fact that Jang Wonyoung personally participated in writing the lyrics for “BANG BANG.” She worked alongside renowned lyricists Seo Ji-eum, Hwang Yubin (XYXX), and EXY, further highlighting her growing role in IVE’s musical identity.
This isn’t Wonyoung’s first time stepping into songwriting. She previously contributed lyrics to “XOXZ,” the title track of IVE’s fourth mini album IVE SECRET, released last year—a track that was widely praised by fans for its emotional nuance and confident storytelling.
Over time, Jang Wonyoung has consistently taken part in lyric writing across multiple IVE releases, showcasing that she is more than just a performer. Her continued involvement signals her evolution as a full-fledged K-pop artist with creative vision, sparking growing anticipation for her future musical contributions.
Meanwhile, IVE continues to fuel comeback excitement. In the early hours of January 21, the group uploaded a video titled “COMING SOON” on their official YouTube channel IVE. The clip features Jang Wonyoung, immediately igniting speculation about how the teaser connects to the upcoming album and concept.
As IVE gears up for their February return, global fans are watching closely—especially to see how “BANG BANG” will set the tone for the group’s next era.
