Stray Kids just made one of the biggest moves in global music history.
Their new album “SKZ IT TAPE: DO IT” debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, making them the first artist EVER to have 8 consecutive albums debut at No.1.
Billboard’s chart has been around for 70 years — and no one has done this until now.

First-Week Numbers That Shocked the Industry
Stray Kids pulled in 295,000 units in the U.S. during the first week.
Billboard reported:
- Physical album sales: 286,000
- Streaming units: 9,000 (≈ 13.98M streams)
Multiple versions, signed albums, and insane global demand pushed “DO IT” straight to the top — even breaking Taylor Swift’s 7-week No.1 streak.
8 Straight No.1 Debuts: A World Record
Since Billboard 200 began in 1956, no group or solo artist has debuted their first eight entries at No.1.
Stray Kids just became the first.
And they did it with mostly Korean-language tracks, making “DO IT” the 30th non-English album to hit No.1.
K-pop’s global power? Stronger than ever.
Stray Kids Make Billboard History With Eight Consecutive No.1 Albums
Stray Kids have officially rewritten K-pop history. Beginning with their 6th mini album “ODDINARY” in March 2022, the group went on an unprecedented streak with seven more consecutive No.1 entries on the Billboard 200. Their chart-topping releases include:
- Mini Album 6 — ODDINARY
- Mini Album 7 — MAXIDENT
- 3rd Full Album — ★★★★★ (5-STAR)
- Mini Album 8 — ROCK-STAR
- Mini Album 9 — ATE
- Special Album — SKZ-REPLAY (HIP)
- 4th Full Album — KARMA (released this past August)
With these releases, Stray Kids became the first K-pop artists to achieve eight consecutive No.1 albums on the Billboard 200. Since the chart’s launch in March 1956—nearly 70 years of music history—no artist has ever debuted at No.1 and continued to take every following album straight to the top eight times in a row. Stray Kids are the first to do it.
Their global momentum continued at the 2025 MAMA Awards, where they won the Grand Prize for Album of the Year with KARMA, solidifying their position as one of the most powerful groups in the world.
