Love tteokbokki, Korean fried rice rolls, or ramyeon? This fall, follow your taste buds on a food-filled trip across South Korea! From October to November 2026, 20 local food festivals will come together under one exciting brand: K-Food Festa.

K-Food Festa 2026 Brings Korea’s Best Local Flavors Together

South Korea is turning its diverse regional food festivals into one big celebration of Korean food culture.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on September 27 that it would bring together 20 food festivals nationwide under the unified brand K-Food Festa. The goal is to make local festivals easier to discover and encourage both Korean and international travelers to explore different regions through their favorite foods.

Instead of visiting just one destination, food lovers can plan an entire autumn trip around Korea’s signature dishes and regional specialties.

20 Festivals Featuring Korea’s Favorite Foods

The lineup includes four events organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs: the Korean Food Festival, Food Week Korea, the Korea Traditional Liquor Festival, and events celebrating Kimchi Day.

The remaining 16 festivals are organized by local governments, showcasing the unique flavors and food traditions of different Korean cities and regions.

Here are some highlights to put on your foodie travel list:

  • Tteokbokki in Daegu: Enjoy Korea’s beloved spicy rice cakes in a city known for its passionate food culture.
  • Gimbap in Gimcheon: Discover the appeal of Korea’s convenient and delicious seaweed rice rolls.
  • Ramyeon in Gumi: Get ready to celebrate one of Korea’s most popular comfort foods.
  • Cheese in Imsil: Visit the Imsil N Cheese Festival for a taste of the region’s famous cheese.
  • Traditional fermented foods in Sunchang: Explore the rich flavors of Korean jang, including traditional fermented sauces.
  • Barbecue in Hongseong: Check out the Hongseong Global Barbecue Festival for a feast of grilled specialties.
  • Coffee in Gangneung: Experience the Gangneung Coffee Festival in a city loved by Korea’s coffee enthusiasts.

From spicy street food to traditional fermented ingredients and freshly brewed coffee, K-Food Festa offers plenty of reasons to explore beyond Seoul.

How International Travelers Can Find K-Food Festa Events

The organizers are also making an effort to help international visitors discover these festivals more easily.

A promotional desk will be set up at the transportation center of Incheon International Airport, where overseas travelers can pick up festival information booklets. Additional promotions are planned for a pop-up store near Seongsu Station, express bus terminals, and KTX railway stations.

Travelers can check festival dates, locations, and other details through the official integrated K-Food Festa website. Updates will also be shared through Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

If you’re planning a trip to Korea this fall, checking the festival schedule before booking your itinerary could help you discover some delicious destinations outside the usual tourist hotspots.

KOREA FBI Editor’s Comment

One of the best things about Korean food is that every region has something special to offer. You don’t have to visit a fancy restaurant to experience Korean food culture. Sometimes, the most memorable bites come from a local festival, a street-food stall, or a bowl of hot ramyeon.

I especially love the idea of traveling around Korea based on what you want to eat. Imagine enjoying spicy tteokbokki in Daegu, tasting fresh cheese in Imsil, and finishing your trip with a great cup of coffee in Gangneung!

For international visitors, K-Food Festa could be a fun way to experience the real flavors of Korea beyond Seoul. Save this idea for your next Korea trip, bring your appetite, and let Korean food decide where you go next!
