Stray Kids are taking over Latin America with their own festival city — and STRAYCITY is officially here.
K-pop powerhouse Stray Kids are expanding their global presence in a big way with a brand-new music festival built around their name.
According to JYP Entertainment, STRAYCITY, a new music festival headlined by Stray Kids, kicks off in Bogotá, Colombia, on September 9 (local time).
Created in partnership with global concert promoter Live Nation, STRAYCITY is more than just another K-pop festival. It is a new festival brand carrying the name and identity of Stray Kids, bringing their music and culture closer to fans across Latin America.
After Bogotá, the festival will move to Buenos Aires, Argentina, on September 14–15, followed by Mexico City, Mexico, on September 25–26.
Stray Kids Are Everywhere in Latin America
STRAYCITY is only part of Stray Kids’ major Latin American push.
On September 11, the group will also headline Rock in Rio, one of Brazil’s biggest and most iconic music festivals.
Even more importantly, Stray Kids will become the first K-pop artist to headline Rock in Rio, marking another major milestone for K-pop’s growing presence in Latin America.
For fans, this means September is shaping up to be a huge month for Stray Kids across the continent.
From Stadium Tours to Their Own Festival Brand
Stray Kids have already built a strong fanbase in Latin America.
After their Latin American stadium tour last year, the group is now returning to the region on an even bigger scale — not simply as performers, but as the centerpiece of their own festival brand.
The group has also made history on the Billboard 200, achieving nine consecutive No. 1 albums, an extraordinary record that highlights their growing influence in the global music market.
STRAYCITY could therefore be another important step in that journey.
Instead of simply bringing K-pop to international audiences, Stray Kids are building an experience around their own music, identity and fandom.
And that is what makes the name STRAYCITY particularly interesting.
It feels less like a traditional concert and more like a temporary city where Stray Kids and their fans can meet through music, performances and culture.
For global STAYs, especially fans in Latin America, this could become a completely new way to experience Stray Kids.
K-pop Is Getting Bigger in Latin America
Stray Kids’ Latin American activities also show just how far K-pop has expanded beyond its traditional markets.
From stadium tours to major local festivals, Korean artists are increasingly sharing the same stages with some of the biggest names in international music.
And with Stray Kids leading STRAYCITY and making history at Rock in Rio, Latin America is becoming another major chapter in the group’s global story.
The question now is simple: How big can STRAYCITY become?
If this first Latin American edition succeeds, the festival could potentially grow into a global brand of its own.
KOREA FBI Editor’s Comment
I really like the idea behind STRAYCITY.
Stray Kids already have a huge global fandom, but creating a festival using their own name feels like the next level.
It is not just “Stray Kids are performing here.”
It is more like “Welcome to Stray Kids’ city.”
And starting this journey in Latin America makes even more sense because the passion of K-pop fans there is absolutely incredible.
With STRAYCITY + Rock in Rio + their previous stadium tour, Stray Kids are clearly showing that Latin America is no longer a side stop on a global K-pop tour.
It is becoming one of their major stages.
