BTS member V (Kim Taehyung) has revealed that he has been receiving treatment for a hearing problem for the past two and a half years.
During a Weverse Live broadcast with fellow member Jungkook on August 12, V shared that his hearing has not been in good condition for approximately two and a half years.
He explained, “If my left ear hears at 100, my right ear only hears about 30.”
V also said that he has been taking medication regularly and visiting the hospital for treatment, marking the first time he has publicly spoken about his hearing condition.
The two BTS members went live after completing their concert in Baltimore, where they talked about their health and the ongoing BTS ARIRANG World Tour.
Jungkook also revealed that he has been dealing with significant pain in his leg. He said his shin was in a condition “just before a stress fracture,” explaining that inflammation and what appeared to be tiny bone damage were making it difficult for him to run freely on stage.
Despite their health concerns, both members expressed their determination to complete the tour safely.
BTS will continue the North American leg of the ARIRANG World Tour, performing at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on August 15–16 and Rogers Stadium in Toronto on August 22–23.

Seeing BTS members openly talk about their health is a reminder that even global superstars need to listen to their bodies. V’s hearing issue and Jungkook’s leg pain also show just how physically demanding a stadium-scale world tour can be.
For fans, the most important thing is not simply seeing BTS give the biggest performance possible—it’s seeing them finish the tour safely and stay healthy for the long run.
