SEO Title: Sempio Hosts K-Food Class for Overseas Korean Language Teachers with Kimchi and Bibimbap Experience
Meta Description: Sempio welcomed Korean language professors from 12 countries for a hands-on K-food class featuring Kimchi@Home and Yondu, helping promote Korean cuisine and culture worldwide.
Sempio Introduces K-Food to Korean Language Educators from Around the World
South Korean food company Sempio hosted a special K-Food Class for more than 20 Korean language professors and educators from 12 overseas universities visiting Korea through an invitation program organized by the Korea Foundation (KF).
The event took place at Sempio’s “Our Taste Space” headquarters in central Seoul, where participants communicated in Korean while learning how to prepare two of Korea’s most iconic dishes—kimchi and bibimbap.
The program was designed to help educators introduce Korean cuisine and food culture to students after returning to their home countries.
Making Kimchi in Just 10 Minutes with Kimchi@Home
One of the highlights of the class was Kimchi@Home, Sempio’s global DIY kimchi kit.
Participants used the kit to prepare fresh kimchi (geotjeori) by simply adding fresh vegetables to the seasoning mix. The product is an international version of Sempio’s Semie’s Kitchen Kimchi Seasoning, allowing anyone overseas to make authentic Korean kimchi in about 10 minutes.
The easy-to-use kit was created specifically to make Korean cooking more accessible for international consumers.
Discovering the Flavor of Yondu
The class also introduced Yondu, Sempio’s naturally brewed seasoning.
Participants seasoned spinach and bean sprouts for bibimbap while learning how Yondu enhances the natural flavor of vegetables with rich umami.
Many educators were especially interested to learn that Yondu was inspired by traditional Korean soy sauce while offering a lighter color and milder aroma, making it suitable not only for Korean dishes but also for salads, pasta, and other international recipes.
Promoting Korean Food Through Education
Rather than simply demonstrating recipes, the program focused on giving overseas Korean language teachers practical tools they can use in classrooms.
By combining language education with hands-on cooking experiences, Sempio aims to help more students around the world discover Korean cuisine as an important part of Korean culture.
As global interest in K-food continues to grow alongside K-pop, K-dramas, and K-beauty, educational cooking programs like this are becoming another effective way to expand Korea’s cultural influence worldwide.
KOREA FBI Editor’s Comment
Food is becoming one of Korea’s strongest cultural ambassadors. By equipping Korean language teachers with easy-to-use cooking kits like Kimchi@Home and versatile ingredients like Yondu, Sempio is helping K-food reach classrooms far beyond Korea. For many students, making kimchi could become their first delicious step into Korean culture.
